Staff Sergeant Kevin Peckenpaugh and Captain Daniel Moriarty serve in the 83rd Civil Affairs Battalion. They share how lessons they learned while conducting civil affairs activities in the CENTCOM area of operations in support of Navy Central Command led to a framework for maritime CA activities. Since the Navy deactivated its Maritime Civil Affairs and Security Training Command, the NAVCENT requirement for civil affairs has been filled by the Army.
