The Civil Affairs Association, in coordination with the 304th Civil Affairs Brigade and others, will host the 2024 Civil Affairs Symposium on “Teaming Civil Affairs: Lessons from the Field” in the Philadelphia area from Friday, November 15 to Sunday, November 17. A planning committee between the two organizations has been formed and a registration page should be up by the end of July, with an agenda posted shortly afterward.
As every year, in response to the annual theme in the Civil Affairs Issue Papers call for
papers, the Symposium will run workshops on that Friday and a plenary discussion on
Saturday, with the 304th Civil Affairs Brigade hosting a formal dining out, where the
Association will present Winfield Scott medallions and annual awards. An Association
Board meeting follows that Sunday morning.
From the workshops, speakers, panels, and Civil Affairs Issue Papers, the Symposium
enables the Corps to come together, network, formulate, and discuss ways ahead with
institutional and policy leaders as well as recognize its outstanding members, enjoy
camaraderie, and build esprit de corps.
